Gary Jobson Returns to Chautauqua

In the America's Cup and sailing, no voice is better known on ESPN than that of Gary Jobson. He was the tactician on Ted Turner's America's Cup winning boat, Courageous. In 1999, the U.S. Sailing Association awardded him its most prestigious award, the Nathanael G. Herreshoff Trophy, for his contributions to the sport of sailing. In 2003, Gary, a Cancer survivor, was inducted into the America's Cup Hall of Fame.

This year he will attend the First Benefit Regatta for The Leukemia and Lymphoma Society on Chautauqua Lake. Dinner attendees will hear Gary speak on the America's Cup from 1851 - 2007, Volvo Ocean Racing, Key West Race Week and his review of the Sail competition at the 2008 Beijing Olympics.

The Corinthian Sailing Club was founded and is dedicated to the highest level of conduct both on and off the water while instilling an interest in sailing with the spirit of Corinthian Sportsmanship and to encourage the growth of the sport of sailing by pursuing activities that help transfer the knowledge and experience from one sailor to another.

A New Sailing Club Founded On Lake Chautauqua

The Conrinthian Sailing Club was founded and is dedicated to the highest level of conduct both on and off the water while instilling an interest in sailing with the spirit of Corinthian Sportsmanship and to encourage the growth of the sport of sailing by pursuing activities that help transfer the knowledge and experience from one sailor to another.

 

The Corinthian intends to address the needs of the occasional weekend amateur sailor by organizing small local fun and instructional sailing events.
